Domaine A Marella is situated in a quiet area of L’Île Rousse with distant views to the sea and the hills of La Balagne. 

Accessed either from Calvi or Bastia airports, there are 1 or 2 bedroom apartments all with sofa bed in the lounge therefore sleeping from 2-6 people.

They are suitable for couples and families, very well equipped and with the shared pool they are a great base to relax yet within walking distance of both the local beach, supermarket and town with a fantastic selection of café bars and restaurants. 

Car hire highly recommended for exploring the local beaches and La Balagne with many picturesque villages.

Accommodation

The residence consists of two sets of small buildings with 17 one and two bedroom apartments (sleeping 2 to 6) on the ground and first floors, arranged around a pedestrian walkway surrounded by Mediterranean gardens with the scents of the maquis.

All the apartments have a furnished terrace/balcony with either a sea view (supplement) or hill view and are furnished and decorated in contemporary style. They all have air conditioning in the lounge and bedrooms, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, induction hob, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker and toaster.

Cots and highchairs can also be provided free of charge.

1 Bedroom Apartment with or without sea view(45m 2 , sleeping 2/4) 1 double bedroom, storage area with safe, large sofa bed in the living room, shower room with hairdryer and separate WC. (Two apartments are adapted for people with reduced mobility and the reception is also easily accessible via a lift to all levels.)
2 Bedroom Apartment with or without sea view(52m 2 , sleeping 4/6) one double bedroom and one twin bedroom (or can be made double on request), storage area with safe, shower room with hairdryer, 2 WC’s, large sofa bed the living room.

Simple breakfasts can be ordered the day before from the reception desk. Additional cleaning can also be organised (extra cost) and there is a communal lounge with TV, table tennis and a complimentary laundry. 

For your relaxation and well-being, there is a fitness room and in the gardens, a freshwater gated swimming pool (13m x 4m, depth 1.2m) and surrounding terrace with sunbeds and parasols.

For self catering, the closest supermarket is 750m away and both the town and beach of L’Île Rousse are within 1km (approximately 15 minutes' walk).

The apartments are approximately 1km east of the port, beach and town of L’Île Rousse in the beautiful Balagne area of northern Corsica.

L’Île Rousse was named after the red granite islets now linked to the town by a causeway built by Pasquale Paoli when he created the port in 1758.  Whilst architecturally more reminiscent of buildings found in southern France, this beautiful town still retains an authentic Corsican atmosphere.

A pleasant evening pastime is to sit beneath the plane trees and date palms in the central square, Place Paoli, with an aperitif or a coffee, watching games of pétanque and listening to the locals chatting in the island’s own language ‘Corsu’.

There is a small market on the edge of the square where a variety of fresh Corsican produce can be purchased and there is also an excellent selection of restaurants and bars. This is one of the warmest towns on the island with shelter from the Balagne hills and with gently sloping sandy beaches, makes L’Ile Rousse a favourite with couples and families alike.

Often referred to as the ‘Garden of Corsica’, La Balagne is famous for its fertile soils, coves of golden sand, winding coastline and charming, historic villages. The region is one of the largest producers of olives and olive oil, almonds and honey on the island, and plays host to numerous, highly rated vineyards. With its rich landscapes, hiking trails and the beautiful, clear waters of the north western quarter of the island, La Balagne is the perfect place to experience some authentic Corsican charm.
