Situated in a modern, two storey building built in a Corsican style, there are just 19 bright guest rooms, 12 having balcony or terrace, some with sea view and the others with views over the gardens and Corsican maquis.

All the rooms are furnished with home comforts and have double bed (twin beds/extra bed/cot on request), en suite shower room (+ bathtub in the Prestige rooms), desk, air conditioning, safe, minibar, telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. On request, an ironing set is available at reception. 

The Josephine a Table restaurant has an outside dining terrace serveing a daily buffet breakfast with local delicacies. Guest can enjoy dinner on the terrace facing the mountains or in the dining room with a refined decor. The gourmet cuisine is based on fresh seasonal products. There is a bar serving drinks throughout the day and evening.

The picturesque long swimming pool (1.2m deep, heated low season) has a surrounding deck with sunbeds and parasols enjoying wonderful far reaching countryside views over La Balagne countryside with the Monte Grosso mountain backdrop.

The hotel reception offers hotel and local information plus it can make restaurant reservations, book taxis, reserve sunbeds on the beach and arrange beauty treatments, bicycle hire and boat rentals locally (all extra cost).

Hôtel Villa Joséphine is situated in the countryside behind the charming port and town of L’Île Rousse on the north coast of Corsica, 22km from Calvi and 72km from Bastia.  

L’Île Rousse is named after the red granite islets now linked to the town by a causeway built by Pasquale Paoli when he created the port in 1758.  Whilst architecturally more reminiscent of buildings found in southern France, this beautiful town still retains an authentic Corsican atmosphere.

A pleasant evening pastime is to sit beneath the plane trees and date palms in the central square, Place Paoli, with an aperitif or a coffee, watching games of pétanque and listening to the locals chatting in Corsu, the island’s own language.

There is a small market on the edge of the square where a variety of fresh Corsican produce can be purchased and there is also an excellent selection of restaurants and bars.

This is one of the warmest towns on the island with shelter from the Balagne hills and with gently sloping sandy beaches L’Île Rousse is popular with couples and families alike.

Often referred to as the ‘Garden of Corsica’, La Balagne is famous for its fertile soils, coves of golden sand, winding coastline and charming, historic villages. The region is one of the largest producers of olives and olive oil, almonds and honey on the island, and plays host to numerous, highly rated vineyards. With its rich landscapes, hiking trails and the beautiful clear waters of the north western quarter of the island, La Balagne is the perfect place to experience some typical Corsican charm.
