Finding the Right Part of Corsica for You...

What Kind of Holiday Are You Looking For?

  • Are you dreaming of a relaxing beach holiday, or would you like to combine the coast with some exploring?
  • Would you prefer to stay in a lively town with restaurants, cafés and a little atmosphere, or somewhere peaceful and rural?
  • Are you travelling as a couple, family, group of friends or solo?
  • How long are you going for? A week in one place, or a longer holiday with time to explore different parts of the island?
  • Are dramatic scenery, walking and outdoor activities important to you, or are lazy days by the sea more your style?
  • Do you prefer a slow, relaxed pace or an active holiday packed with things to see and do?

North West Corsica - La Balagne, Calvi and L'Île Rousse

If beautiful beaches combined with charming towns and rolling countryside appeal, the north west of the island is well worth considering. The La Balagne region - sometimes called the 'Garden of Corsica' - blends sandy coves with picturesque hilltop villages and a lovely sense of the authentic island. Calvi offers a beach and a historic feel, while L'Île Rousse has a relaxed seaside atmosphere with a good choice of restaurants and shops. This corner of the island tends to suit couples, families and those who enjoy a mix of beach time and gentle exploration.  Holidays in La Balagne | Just Corsica

North East Corsica - St Florent, Cap Corse and Bastia

For a more rugged and authentic feel, the north east has a very different character. The Cap Corse peninsula is dramatic with mountains rising sharply from the sea, fishing villages, winding coastal roads and a real sense of getting away from it all. St Florent and Bastia are also in this corner of the island and  well worth asking us about too. This part of the island tends to appeal to travellers looking for something a little less polished and more naturally beautiful.  Holidays in North East Corsica | Just Corsica

Thinking About How You'll Get Around

One thing that's easy to overlook when choosing where to stay is how you plan to get around. Corsica is not a small island and if you'd like to explore different areas, having a car makes a big difference. If you're planning to stay in one base and enjoy easy walks and beach days, you might not need one. It's worth thinking about this early on, as it can influence both where you stay and what type of accommodation works best for you.  Travelling to Corsica | Just Corsica

Villas, Hotels or Apartments - What Suits Your Trip?

The type of accommodation you choose can be just as important as the location. A self-catering villa or apartment gives you flexibility and space - great for families or groups who want to holiday at their own pace. A hotel in a town centre suits those who'd rather not think about shopping and cooking, and who want to be close to restaurants and local life. We provide accommodation including hotels, villas and apartments across the island, so whatever your preference, we'd love to help you find the right place to stay.  Holiday Accommodation | Just Corsica
